You Were Licensed & Commissioned at Salvation ✌🏾
— By Nasir I. Randolph, MSW, LCSWA
This isn’t an exclusive club. These are lives at stake.
Somewhere between the pulpit and the pew, we started believing a lie…. that ministry is reserved for the few, the polished, and the ordained. That you need a platform, paperwork, or a microphone to be qualified to share the gospel.
But the truth?
You were licensed and commissioned the day you received salvation.
Heaven doesn’t wait for paperwork. The moment you were washed, you were sent.
The Great Commission Isn’t a “Clergy Contract”
When Jesus said,
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19–20)
He wasn’t talking to pastors or apostles… He was talking to disciples. Everyday people who had encountered His love and were called to share it.
That command wasn’t for the spiritual elite. It was for the ones who had been transformed by the message itself.
The Great Commission was never about position. It’s about participation.
Salvation Comes With a Calling
When you were reconciled to God, you were also recruited by Him.
Paul writes,
“God has given us the ministry of reconciliation… We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors.” (2 Corinthians 5:18–20)
That means your salvation came with an assignment… to be His representative in your world.
Your neighborhood. Your job. Your friend group. Your online platform.
You don’t need an audience. You just need awareness.
Because people are watching how you live even when you’re not preaching with your mouth.
The Real Ordination Service
You didn’t need a ceremony… you got filled.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses…” (Acts 1:8)
That was your ordination.
That was the moment Heaven said, “Go.”
The Spirit Himself certified you.
That means your testimony, your journey, and your healing process all count as ministry.
This Is Bigger Than Titles
Every time you share your story, forgive when you could’ve fought, or love someone who doesn’t deserve it… you’re doing ministry.
Every time you speak peace in a chaotic environment or remind someone that God still loves them… you’re doing ministry.
It’s not about perfection; it’s about participation.
You are part of God’s redemption plan.
Final Word: Go.
You don’t need to be perfect to be powerful.
You don’t need a license to be light.
So go ahead… live out loud.
Share what saved you.
Serve where you are.
And trust that the same Spirit that saved you is the same one that sent you.
Because this isn’t an exclusive club.
These are lives at stake.
